The Bench and weights have been sitting in my attic for about 10 years. I set them
back up in Feb of 09 and have been useing then 4-5 days a week since.
Here is where I am at right now. Soloflex with all accessories, 405lbs. of resistance bands, 450 lbs. of plates (315 in picture), 3 sets of Golds Gym tension bands, 6' barbell, EZ bar, and dumbells. Being a steel fabricator at work, I took a Weider weight bench That was given to me, cut it up and integrated it into the Soloflex so that I could use it with the free weights and tension bands. Now to learn how to use it all. Thats where you guys come in!
Hey guys I will get some pictures up soon, I do have a question tho. I just found a Marcy Smith Machine model #6001 on Cragslist with 300lbs of olympic weights for sale, all for $500.00. I looked around and the cheapest I could find the bench alone was for around $600.00. The guy told em the bench was less then a year old so seems like with the weights it is well worth it. Has anyone ever used the Marcy Smith machine benches? and if so how are they, I googles for reviews and they are pretty much mixed. Any info or your take if this setup is worth $500.00 bucks would be appreciated. Thanks,
A mate of mine has a Marcy Smith. They are impressive bits of kits. Obviously excellent build quality and very well designed. But I would however recommend that you purchase a free weight set if possible. It's noticably more difficult using free weights, and you activate more muscles using free weights. As long as you get your form down it will be of benefit in the long run. I therefore, bought myself a Marcy Olympic weight kit as well as an olympic weight bench with the lat pulldown, preacher attachment, leg attachment etc. If you look long enough, you should eventually come across a free weight set.
Hope that helps.
Its gettin there.

Just wondering how you guys do squats at home? I see no squat racks.
Unless I am missing something?
If you look at my last gym pic you will see the uprights raised high, I use them as a rack, works perfect, no safety catches though-If I ever encounter any problems I'll just have to drop the bar and hope for the best.
Ok, cause i'm looking to get a bench and a squat rack and i'm too cheap to spend money on two things. =).
I was wondering if I could do that, I suppose they must be adustable.
yes they are adjustable, any bench that inclines/declines has to be adjustable. The bench I have is heavy duty, I would not recommend doing this on a flimsy/cheap bench. And when you go to buy a bench it will mention the ability to do squats as mine did, If there is no mention of squats in the description then it is probably not meant for squats. Hope this helps, good luck squating!!
Here's my home setup. It's, I think, a good use of a pretty small space.
