    Hi there fella; thought I'd drop by and see how things are going with you?

    As you know I've not been here for quite a while, things have been hectic at work but after Christmas day they should slow down again, but that doesn't mean I've been slacking!

    I'm now at 193 lbs and down to 15% BF! Thats a loss of nearly two stone since I started this journey. The goal for the new year is to increase in my lean body mass and in line with that I'll be starting a new journal.

    Well thats me covered how goes your journey brother?

    And now at 03:00 on a wet, windy and cold Sunday morning it's time for me to get the cover off the bike and head off to work! Sucks eh?

    Well, I must say that your experience has taught me a lot about the nerve. I am not sure where I am in this process; but I am much better, save for the pain this am on the treadmill. Not sure if it told you this, but I am 58 and just waiting for a shoe to drop. Did not have children or even get married until I was 47 (although I had a he__ of a social life and really do not regret anything); but although I have been lifting since I was about 30 (although not with the intensity that I do now) I am really scared about what is ahead, in general. What is so odd to me is that my back has never hurt, except for around my neck. And, it does not hurt now. Do you feel your pain in your back or somewhere else? I am having a hard time getting my head around all of this. But, I do believe that I have discovered a "weak" point in my workouts.

    I have targeted body parts for years. (I think I told you that I am actually older than you.) I feel like I can really focus on whether I am really progressing. Some people, for example, do arms one day. But for me, arms does not properly focus on the different aspects of the muscles. In other words, my triceps are stronger than my biceps. If I focus on arms, I will really rely on my triceps, which will not allow my biceps to be isolated. Now, I could perform a bicep and tricep exercise--but the tricep will take over--because it is a bigger muscle, so the bicep will be neglected.

    As for cardio--I always perform weights first, unless it is only a cardio day. If I do cardio first, I cannot lift much.

    I would also work-- as much as you can-- into free weights. But, seriously, you are doing really well. The body takes time to change.
