    Default My martial art

Guys this is not a childish desire, nor some bull**** on tv....
I have, in fact ,never seen a ninja film in my hole life.
But as I was searching the internet I heard about ninjutsu, after a little research,I thought it was helpful..(I saw Fight science)So I am strating (along with dougs mega cutting routine)some trainings that will help me in this direction(I dont have a dojo or something similar nearby)
I have found some exercises and combined with dougs routine,
I think I should add more body weight execises(as for stretching I have all I need)
I repeat that I am not some maniacal fan ..
I would rly appreciate some advice from guys who have had martial arts experiences expecially with ninjutsu
here you got wht I have found and combined myself

If you want to learn how to fight ppl in real life then id suggest:

Jiu jitsu, Thai boxing (muay thai), Kickboxing/Boxing.

Ive got a friend who did ninjitsu for many years, he could do pretty cool stuff that looked good but in reality would do f-all in a real fight.

Yea,I know ,most martial arts are for the ring,in real life there are no rules and only explosive actions, that your oppnet doesnt think of and always strike first, hit hard without thinking of consequences..But doing the cool flashy stuff is nice,if you know what I mean>>>

if you want to know how to fight people in real life. then go up to a big ol' SOB and make yo mama jokes. do that enough times you'll eventually learn to fight.
Its not about where your at. Its about how far you have come and where your going.

Learn how to fight however you'd like, and then learn how to run away quickly. Works every time.

I've done savate for a couple years and while I don't know too much about ninjutsu I might be able to give you some info.

its something you have to be very involved in. its not a good martial art to choose as a more recreational hobby. it takes a lot of time before you really learn useful skills, a lot of it isn't applicable to self-defense. its also hard to find people who practice ninjutsu. and it gets even more confusing because real ninjutsu doesn't exist any more. its basically evolved into a bunch of different styles that stray from the original. and to add to that confusion, all the practitioners of the different styles will claim that they practice the purest form of ninjutsu

so bottom line, if your absolutely dead set on ninjutsu, go for it, but if you don't think you'd be willing to invest the time, don't. why not try savate . its very useful. its kinda like muy thai boxing but more applicable to real life situations

Nope your completely correct Its like kickboxing/muy thai.

It was developed in the 1700s by French sailors that saw martial artists who fought with kicks in addition to punches in the far east. It was then further developed as a form of street fighting during that same period, a very bloody, dangerous time in France's history. What makes it really unique though, is that you fight while wearing steel toed boots, the same kind people would have worn back then. This makes it interesting because the fighters can just concentrate on kicking with swiftness and accuracy, putting extra force behind your kicks isn't necessary because the steel toe makes them plenty powerful already. Its for this reason that I also think its very applicable to a self-defense situation. Your most likely going to be wearing shoes when your attacked, so none of your techniques will feel strange or awkward in that sense.

Haha yea that's not a bad idea. I'd advise to maybe look into a martial art that has some kick techniques like TKD, Hapkido etc. mixing one of those with ninjutsu would be good as ninjutsu it focuses a lot on the hands.

    Aye ^^^

Max, don't get all sensitive on me now... there is no more ninjitsu at all. Its all bullspit, it died out with the shogunate because Japanese culture is all about honour and everyone, ninja's included, ceded that they had no honour. They didn't have any special skills, they were just dirty cheating bastards who would kill people when they weren't prepared, ie sleeping. Hollywood has created the entire image people think of these days.

All the people out there today teaching "ninjitsu" are just taking advantage of people's ignorance. If you want to learn how to fight learn from a fighter. If you want to learn how to look cool take up dance. Everyone I have fought who was 'flashy' and have seen others fight got their arse handed to them... inside the ring and outside the ring. The most effective punch is the one that looks like nothing happened... just like the car wreck that killed Dale Earnhardt.

The big flashy wrecks dissipate energy are just like flashy moves in fights. The ugly punch that only travelled six inches to the target is the one that knocks someone out. Looking cool and being able to fight only go together in the movies.

    Nice one, Expat.

However, if you die in 5-10 years by a "freak ninja accident", then I know who I'm going after!

American NASCAR driver, but yes he just hit the wall and it looked like nothing happened to the majority of people watching but we (paramedics) and a couple people that really understand racing saw it in the bar and we all knew what had happened... sickening. His death is the reason that NASCAR drivers now have to wear a strap on the helmet to keep their head from snapping forward and killing themselves like what happened to him.

Ah right, this happend to an Australian V8 supercar driver a few months back, he hit the wall hard but it didnt look disastrous, like the car didnt fall apart etc and he died.

Weird when you look at an F1 car going backwards into the tyres at 180mph and the driver just walks out....

Its all about dissipation of energy... that's why muy thai guys grab your head when they knee you, so it can't move and must absorb all the energy of their kick. Same reason boxers roll with the punch... and some boxers try to make you roll into their real punch... its a chess match inside there and the fighter who outthinks his opponent is the one who wins.
