Default How to say thanks for getting good advice..

Given the amount of people who are now giving excellent advice on the forums for new members and the more experienced members. I havent seen many people being given credit for their help....

If you want to give acknowlegment for someone helping you out then please add to their reputation on the forum...(you never know, you will be there one day also giving the advice)

To add to someone's reputation, you will click the graphic at the bottom left hand corner of each post. When you click this cross you will be given the option to approve (add reputation) or disapprove (deduct reputation) the post that the member just made. It also gives you a chance to leave a comment.

Reputations come with rules. You only get a certain number of points each day, so use them only for the best postings and responses. Right now, this is 6 times per day that points can be given.

There is reputation POWER. Power is the number of points you give each time. This starts at 1 point, but increases based on a number of criteria such as posts, tenure, and your own reputation. When you give negative points, they are at half of your power level.

I encourage everyone to start using this system so the people in this forum that help others out and post quality info can stand out as excellent forum contributors.

Now that we're on the rep topic...What does it mean when someone gives you rep that is shown with a blue bar instead of green? Does it mean they disagree with what you said, or that they simply don't have the required posts/rep to make their + rep count?

Yeh i think its when someone reps u but they dont have any rep power so you dont get any points on your rep, if they have under 50 posts..

I was wondering what that "rep" stuff was. I don't think I have 50 posts yet though.

I am bumping this post back so that people can read it.

I have noticed quite a lot of people on the forum are giving quite a lot of good advice but there doesnt seem to be reputation points handed out for giving the advice....

If you feel that someone has helped you out by giving good advice then click on the "green plus" sign under their profile to the left of the post....

IF that is the case why do you have 6,xxx post and only 41 reps points when ALL of your post are very helpful??? Something is amiss...lol

I have tried this and haven't seen the change in the persons rep points, is it not 1 to 1 or does it take 5 good post to equal 1 rep?

    Thanks

I just wish to say hello to the forum members and other members of the community. I found advises given Mr. Doug to members very useful. I want to build some muscle as well as remain fit, which all these years I neglected. I am a diabetic since last 6 years. I used to go to gym around 15 years back and used to be remain fit. Since I came to know that I have diabetes, I stopped everything. Subsequently, I had the problem of frozen shoulder for about a year, but recovered doing some exercises. Now I want to get back into fitness because I have lost most of my strength due to frozen shoulder.
I want to get into shape again.

Thanks to Muscle and Strength for allowing me become member.

    Hi doug,

Does this apply only for the asker of the question to rate the responder or anyone who learned from it?

How can you tell if you got any rep besides rep power and wether or not its bad. I've already given 3 good reps today because they deserve it.

I figure this is the best thread to put this...
I've been on this site for about 15 minutes now, just looking around.
Wow, I've already learned more on these forums than on any of the other "Pay Us And You'll Get Muscle" sites.

I'm definitely going to give thumbs up to the people that help me. Heck, I might start sending money to people if I see progress..haha.

I'm 22 years old, and over the past year, I've gotten lazy and started gettin a "keg".. lol
I'm finally going to the gym (That I've been paying for, but not going to). I think this site will motivate me more than any other site that I've ever been to. It's definitely looking great.

Anyways, thanks for the site and all the effort and time that everyone has put into it.
