    Default Taking a break?

I have been doing Doug's 4 day workout for about 8 weeks now without any breaks. I was wondering if I could take a week off or something? would that make any difference?

    Thanks!

Yes, taking a week off after prolonged training can help you both physically and mentally. I typically take a week off after 10 consecutive weeks of training. I find that it does the body (in terms of both rest and growth) but more importantly the mind a lot of good!

It is generally recommended that you take a week off every 8-12 weeks of training. You will usually find that you come back stronger after your week off, due to the fact that your body is able to rest and completely recover.

Agreed. It is also recommended that you do not change your diet. Keep your diet the same (whether in a surplus or a defecit of calories) during that week off.

Sounds like a good idea i never thought of lol. Have a couple of questions though. Should I still do cardio on my week off or COMPLETELY take a week off. Reason I ask is that I was gonna start cutting the week I am now gonna take off. Will I lose muscle in doing that or will it be ok?

Take the whole week off from any exercise, and just chill out..

taking a week off would be really good because it gives your muscles time to relax and you do all your growing outside of the gym
