    Default Strawberry & Banana Smoothies

Anyone try these? The ones at Sonic are amazing. Expensive addition at $3 a drink, but we've been making them at home lately -- very healthy, very filling.

Smoothies are good, many people are now making them, they contain plenty of vitamins and not an E number in sight....lol

Here is a receipe for a Mango protein smoothie...

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 cup frozen mango cubes
    1/2 cup organic vanilla yogurt
    1/2 cup cold water
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder

1/2 cup of yogurt directly from the yogurt container and put it in the blender.
1/2 cup water and put it in the blender.
put 1 cup of mango into the blender.
Add 1 scoop of whey protein powder.

Blend until smooth. Pour into a glass or travel mug and serve.

I am also a fan of these. Just curious, but when do you drink them....morning, post-workout, etc.??? Also, do you use unflavored whey protein powder?

I currently use Soy protein powder because it was the only type I could find that was unflavored. Should I switch to Whey protein?

I use whey...and I'm not trying to pull **** out of my ass but I believe it's better due to BCAA in the protein, which are better for your muscle growth. Anyways, there is unflavored whey...GNC has it out, but to add flavor, I go with vanilla or chocolate to my smoothie. You wouldn't think chocolate flavoring would go well with strawberry-banana, but it does!!!

    Strawberry Banana is always awesome!

I try to reduce my dairy intake as much as possible so i like to us unsweetened almond milk with my sb & b smoothies sometimes
I like to mix in a little nut butter such as almond for a little extra protein also

My favorite recipe for strawberry/banana is

1 Cup UNSWEETENED Vanilla Almond Milk
    1/2 Cup Ice
    4-6 Strawberries
    1 banana
    1 Scoop Vanilla protein powder

    Easy stuff and delicious!

I have been making smoothies for a while now, but I was getting concerned about the amount of sugar in them (although it comes naturally from the fruit). But then I think, how could all this natural fruit and vegetables ever be bad? I haven't tried yet Mango protein smoothie but I think it sounds like a really healthy drink!*I say go for it!

We eat smoothies often. Always have really. With a young child we find its a easy way to boost fruit and veggie intake, even though she eats fruits and veggies often.

I like to do about 6 frozen strawberries, a whole banana, 1 cup almond milk, 1 cup Kirkland Signature Greek Yogurt, 2 scoops protein powder, and a handfull of blue berries. I find this makes enough for two 16oz smoothies.

Smoothies differ from the juices and traditional cocktails by that fact that at the end we have not only vitamins and minerals, but also fiber. And this is awesome and very healthy.
