My basic setup. Going to buy a cage after xmas, but sadly with an 83" ceiling my options are very limited.

I can still do squats using my bench. I can flip the arms to the other side, and it extends high enough so that the bar is at shoulder height.

You could look into a half rack like Steve has in his basement.

    Still gets it done, nice

I built my own power rack from plans I found on a diy equipment site as well as a couple of youtube video's. I love it! Very sturdy and covers probably 85% of what I did in the gym... I do have a problem with my lat pulley system but I think it is self inflicted as I used way to small pulley's. I used the 1" pulleys from Lowes even though the plans said 3" pulleys. I got cheap and in a hurry so I am going to replace with the 3" pulley's this weekend.

With the 1" pulleys 2 25lb plates might as well have been 125lb weights. I don't know mush about geometry but it does appear that there is a substantial relationship between pulley size and weight movement. I guess we will see this weekend.

I will post some pics as soon as I get the pulley's changed.

    hi guy
i have a problem with my dumbbells
    i train at home
    here my dumbbells

    anyone like me ?
my problem is : if i train with same weight of dumbbells for all set . it is easy and comfortable
but if i increase the weight ( exp : when i warm up ) so it take me about 1-2 minutes to be done. it is little boring .

Changing the weights on your dbs every set can be time consuming. I remember starting out with a set like that and I was happy to have them. These days I have a pair of adjustable dbs:
From Bayou Fitness (via Buy.com $299. free shipping) The best $299. I have ever spent. If you can't get your hands on a set now - in the meantime you can do volume training with a lighter weight and do 10 sets of 10 with the same weight to stimulate growth and build strength.
