    Default Most workouts have similar chest workouts?

    I just finished Dougs 4 Day, and moving onto Shaun's 4 Day, but the chest exercise is exactly the same. Then I looked at the Intermediate Split workout, and again, very similar. What can I do to change this? Use cables instead of dumbbells?

    D4DS - Incline Dumbbell Bench Press
    Barbell Bench Press
    Incline Dumbbell Flys
    Cable Crossovers

    Shauns 4 Day
    Incline Dumbbell Press
    Flat Bench Press
    Incline Dumbbell Flys
    Cable Crossovers

    I just want to change it up so my muscles don't get used to it. Muscle Confusion I think it's called. But yeah most of the workouts have these 4 exercises.

    geez... I can't but to laugh when I hear the term muscle confusion.....Anyway...
    If you really insist on changing the chest workouts there are a few options. You could start with flat bench instead of incline, you could use barbell instead of dumbell and vice versa, you could do flat flys instead of incline, and you could do pec deck instead of crossovers.

    Swap the incline DB for incline BB and the flat BB to DB, that should be a big enough change. And ofcourse you can always use supersets and drop sets.
