Thanks, I will starting using a weight plate on my chest when doing the bench crunches now.

Regarding the seated leg tucks, I can feel the burn so to speak in my abs, but frankly, what I can feel just as much and sometimes more is a burn and pain in the back of my thighs. This seems natural since the exercise calls for lifting your back/shoulders slightly off the bench, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing it wrong or with poor form. I've watched the video a few times and I seem to be following the movements correctly...

It takes lots of effort to gain that perfect abs which everyone dreams of. Hard workout is the first phase which comes in your path. Proper diet is another step toward it. The exercise must be highly fat lowering like crunches, cardio exercise, running, swimming etc. Many people try out crunches as it gives a fast and appropriate result.

BTW I do one variation of the crunch - keeping the legs up, supported on a wall. This is how you will look:

Dunno what those are actually called.

Nice Post! Ab exercises in a Tabata-style HIIT session are beastly! Repeat it a few times for abs of steel!

You need to change the workout upward and surprise the body. Ab's can get use to the crunches. Should also try getting upper, reduce and middle abs within the workout. No bread, much less carbs should help and perform these, Hanging or willing leg raises, Crunches, Sit-ups, high-pulley draw downs will help to have great abs.

I have found with most people is that they don't know how to perform a regular crunch correctly. Try this: a regular crunch is not a movement where your chin should come toward your knees, but instead is a movement in which the chin should be raised toward the ceiling. Perfect the form of that, and then mimic that form when doing cable crunches. Your chin should be headed straight down toward the floor, and your abs should be used to consciously move your upper body as a whole. try not to let your hips, waist, or pelvis in general do the work.

Love this post really.. I am a big abs lover and doing all these Bench Crunches. The plank is pretty much one of the only exercises where you’re getting your entire core. You’re working the front and back of your abdominal area at the same time without any equipment.

The best ab workout tips I've read or have learned from my own experience:

    1. As always, start by setting clear goals and deadlines. Let others know about your goals so they can help you stay accountable.

    2. Intense interval cardio right away in the morning. Don't eat first. Enhance your cardio session with proper nutrition the day/night before (limit starchy carbs for your last two meals of the day).

    3. 30 minutes before cardio and resistance sessions, drink a cocktail with small amounts of L-trysine, Vinpocetine, and caffeine

    4. Mix in some functional exercises that are great for the core: boxing, plyometrics, sprinting. These exercises will provide variety and keep your abs stimulated.

You really shouldn't need that much equipment or a crazy routine to see results in your abs.

I've used adjustable situp benches and ab wheels in the past. Currently getting great results with just a bow classic.

Nice post.. If you want great abs fast, you need to focus more at reducing your body fat level than building up your abdominal muscles. You see, you probably already have a six pack (or 8 pack for that matter) muscle underneath your fat.

Have been doing knee tucks for my last training cycle and really got a lot out of them. Will try cable crunches this time around. Thanks
