Default Back training for a few months :) just a quick back picture

So i took a whole year out, lost all my gains that i originally put on went from 190pounds down to 165pounds :/ and put on fat in the process!

Anyways, i decided to start training again at the start of july. Gained most of my weight back pretty rapidly and more. According to the scales in my gym im 202pounds at 6ft 2. Most of the weight went to my legs, can't even wear my jeans anymore

Friend took a back picture for me in early september which i was none too pleased with. Lats were really outta proportion, arms are shocking, blergh. Anyways, we took a new one today, still not happy with my lats or my arms, what do you guys think?

Obviously the new one is on the left, pretty shocking lighting too, but you get the jist opinions please!

Damn dude! First off great job. You indeed did make your lats more even, and you also look a lot more trimmed, and the shoulders and arms and upper back also look very trimmed and more defined. Great job dude!

EDIT: Maybe it's the angle or lighting, but the traps are NOTICEABLY uneven. The right looks larger and higher than the left, but again, could be the lighting.

Cheers mate, im sure my left is smaller, i remember that being the case when i was training last year. I think eventually they may even out, when im relaxed its not noticeable so im happy with that for now

good progression bro. Traps are uneven but just keep working at it and you'll get them even

Yes to both of you, they might not grow at the same pace, but they will even out, I have the same deal with my chest, and I found out in 9th grade, that TRYING to even them out made it worse and made my training go to waste...

do you use dumbbells or barbells because sometimes people do more reps or more weight on the weak side but instead use dumbbells and use the same weight for each side

@ Palmer, yeah i remember trying that out now! trying for more reps on one side or doing more weight, didnt do a thing really, still the one grew more than the other!

@Jaskarn I dont isolate traps anymore, they have grown quite a bit just doing heavy deads (act as a synergist). I may throw some DB shrugs in, see if that helps them out!

Is it me or does it seem like you are cutting as well. It seems like your shoulders/deltoids are reducing though in size as well as your back becoming more prominent. Does anyone else see this as well?

That's what I was trying to say, I see more healthy looking muscles, and more definition, he will have to build more size to them as well though.

I don't see hugely uneven traps, I'm pretty sure it's just the lighting that's throwing it off plus it looks like you are holding your Right shoulder higher.

    Good gains though.

I dont see uneven traps, unless i focus really hard, and even then its nothing to worry about. Also with the comment on smaller shoulders, i think that poster is confused with the pics, the left is the newer one.

Basically you have made good progress, though I do the the lats are quite uneven, and it was the first thing I noticed.
Maybe you could use dumbells for some back excercises....

Also, can you please post ur back workout.
if you are doing pull ups, one arm may be working more than the other, or one may be using more bicep. I say that because your left bicep is abit bigger than your right, which could mean your left bicep is doing some more work which takes away from your left lat.

Or barbell rows, I noticed that one of my elbows would stick out and one would stay in, and the one where the elbow sticked out was the weaker side, so i try really hard to keep symmetry and my elbows in.

    hope that helps
