    Default Milk a scam!?

I consume milk religiously. Its a staple for my in betweens and I constantly tap into it for extra protein. Yesterday a co-worker called out milk as a scam that doesn't carry the nutritional value indicated by the label. This co-worker claims that we as humans are the only species on the planet that consumes milk post infancy, further to that, the source of the milk is that of another species--not natural--and then some other theories along the lines of its a cash cow and the quality has diminished. Anyway I would like to get some opinions from people on what they think of milk personally, I don't plan on changing my habits though, unless its killing me.

Cause, yeah...the FDA would allow that to happen. Your coworker needs a reality check and to stop watching reruns of the X-Files. -EK

we are the only species that does a lot of things, drinking milk in adulthood isnt the biggest revelation. People that argue we are the only species that does so cant actually argue why its a bad thing to do. I dont exactly see those people eating raw food (like every other species).

The only reason other species DONT drink milk past infancy is because they arent given the opportunity. Put a bowl of milk in front of just about any animal and they will drink it, no matter what species it came from.

Other species do drink from other species with out a problem, when parent of same species arent available. They do so with out being forced, so it seems natural.

Further, you may want to remind your coworker that we are also the only species that cooks our foods before we eat it. Does this mean cooking is a scam? -EK

And beef and chicken. Cows don't eat beef, nor do chickens eat other chockens, hence we shouldn't either. Just grains I guess. -EK

Tell your co-worker that you don't pay her for her opinion, and to shut the **** up and never talk to you again.

But seriously, she's an idiot. Or is it a man? You didn't specify and I had a woman telling me that same thing before almost word for word.

Cows milk not healthy for humans

Doctors say cowís milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia, allergies, diarrhea, heart disease, colic, cramps, gastrointestinal bleeding, sinusitis, skin rashes, acne, increased frequency of colds and flu, arthritis, diabetes, ear infections, osteoporosis, asthma, autoimmune diseases, and more, possibly even lung cancer, multiple sclerosis and non-Hodgkinís lymphoma

no crap when you over consume something or are allergic to it, it will cause adverse reactions.....

most arent due to average consumption within your dietary needs in adults.

The mucus thing was debunked too, awhile ago, which eliminates the cold and flu thing.

The non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma has NEVER been conclusive. Just because beta-lactoglobulin is found in high amount in patients doesnt directly correlate with consumption, or cause of disease. THats like saying deodorant causes neurological issues.

It's also a problem for people who have never been diagnosed with a milk allergy, so the general population that isn't aware they have issues that are being caused by milk can also be affected, maybe they are midly intolerant but never diagnosed...they can't fully digest the milk, lactase or whatever else but I have to agree with Doug on this one. When I cut back to only having a small piece of cheese on my birthdays and at Xmas, and started drinking tea and coffe black etc I found my colds disappeared and I wouldn't have any for well over a few years; when I put too much (and that means minimal) milk back into the system, I start getting colds again.

Some people can tolerate it, but those suffering lots of colds might wanna take a serious look at it before they debunk it as myth; after all, it's our health and not who's "opinion" is right, in these sorts of cases. I know there's a lot of nutty stuff out there with hype about , don't eat X or Y, but it pays to check the theories out with your own body and reactions to it.

    Just sayin'

Heck, I didn't even know people could be seriously allergic to the cold and can die from just swimming at Bondi beach, until I saw it on TV...came as quite a surprise to me.
