Default Whey - Sellby date/use by date

I've got a spare 2.27kg tub of whey kicking about.

No use by date on it.

It was opened about 14 months ago.

Anyone have any idea as to whether it's ok to use?

Taste's ok in a milk shake.

Mine has Aug 2012 as a use-by date on it if that helps. Bought it last week.

All whey should have a "use by" date, although sometimes they are hard to find. What brand is it? -EK
Donít chase the 1%, there is no magic training routine or diet thatís going to provide any measurable results over the basic principles for getting huge and strong: Train heavy, eat and sleep more.

Searched the tub inside and out EK. Also had a housemate search it.

It's the MyProtein brand (Uk exclusive) as you probably know.

Gotcha. Perhaps the governing bodies there act differently than here. Is there a lot number on the bag? If so, you can call them directly at 0845 094 9889 (Local rate), and ask. -EK

Hmm...well, worst thing that happens is some gastrointestinal distress, and I doubt even that would occur. It's dehydrated, and there's little fat in it, so it's not like it can be a breeding ground for bacteria. -EK

Don't worry about use-by or sell-by dates. If it looks good, smells good, tastes good, it's fine.

In November I found some eggs in a cupboard with a use-by date of March. They were fine. Conversely, I've had milk that has gone off a couple of days before the use-by date.

Exactly, go ahead and use it. As long as you had it sealed up (meaning bag was closed or lid was on good and kept in a cool place, use it!!)
