    Default Cricket World Cup

    England losing to Ireland?

I want to hear what the English have to say about this.

South Africa had a bit of a shaky start against Netherlands but things are getting on track, AB De Villiers is on fire.

England losing to ireland? No way!

England nearly lost to the Netherlands the other day aswell.

Australia is going well so far, we smashed New Zealand in the last game.

    Fear the Aussies.

Yup, they couldn't defend a total of 326!
SA just got 351 against Netherlands, we really turned a bad start into a great score.
Aussies are always good, BUT I think 2011 is our year, IF we don't choke again that is.

England were not great but hats off to O'Brien for a fantastic record-breaking knock. Tis a batsmens work cup this one.

Yip that's for sure, 100 off 50 balls - madness.

With those flat pitches some really big totals have been posted so far, except Kenya scoring 68 that is.

India, Sri Lanka or possibly SA for the win. Aussies have a good pace attack but no quality spinner and that matters in the sub-continent. Also Lee, Tait and Johnson are all potential match-winners but they also have the potential to leak massive runs. No balance there IMO.

Completely agree, Aus is probably the best team but not in the sub-continent. With the addition of Tahir SA now have a decent spin/pace balance. India are obvious favourites but are showing some weaknesses. Did think England had a chance but after yesterday not so sure. Sri Lanka have a good chance for sure, Malinga got another WC hat trick the other day, he's a freak.

Englands top 4 batsmen is all they have really. They have fired but the bowling attack has been poor, Bresnan aside and Swann yesterday, and the fielding has been unexplainably disgraceful. I would have argued we were the best fielding side in the competition until it had started, now we have probably been the worst.

Yeah what happened with that, they have been on fire in the field until the start of the WC. Yesterday's defeat should be a good warning for other teams, some of the "minnows" can play.

Having said that Netherlands are currently 119/8 chasing 351

    Default Cricket World Cup

    OBRIEN!!!!!

I really think SA should take out the world cup though. They are incredibly even through the whole squad. India, SL and AUS to be the semi finalists along with SA.

England's tail begins at 5, WI and NZ lack class and Pakistan are too erratic. No one else deserves a mention.

Having said that, I read that Ryan Ten Doeschante (sp?) from the Netherlands has the highest ODI batting average EVER for anyone that has played more than 20 ODI's, and Ray Price from Zimbabwe is the 3rd ranked ODI bowler in the world currently. Not too shabby from the associate nations.
    Progression every session.

I would rather see Bopara in than Collingwood, how long can we keep him in as a 6th bowler and decent fielder? He's supposed to be a batsman I'd sooner have seen Kieswetter in too than Prior or Davies, sure he had a bad run but he is a potential match-winner.

Zimbabwe were a respectable team before the political crisis, not really anymore but they can still give it a go from time to time. It's quite funny though because most of the smaller nations have player from other countries representing them, in fact, the same could be said for England - we like to call it a South Africa B team haha.

Surprised Kieswetter isn't in TBH, although Prior can also be a matchwinner on his day. Problem is he doesn't have many "days"

We had the same issue with Boucher, good keeper but average batsman. We got rip of him, put AB in at Keeper and opened up a spot for another specialist.

    Ye exactly.

Talking of Zimbabwe has anyone seen Andy Flowers fingers? What a mess, apparently thats 'keepers fingers in the pro game pretty much. They look like they have been mixed up and put back on the wrong knuckles lol. I think I'll take up bowling

I'm at work mate so can't get on youTube. Search for 'Swannys Ashes Diary' and you will find it. Part 3 I think it is but they are all worth watching if you have the time. There's a scene in one of them where Jimmy Anderson comes out of the shower that is absolutely priceless.
