    Default Tricep Bruising

I posted this in the Beginner's forum, but didn't receive any responses, so someone pointed me in this direction.

I noticed yesterday (Saturday) in the mirror that I have a Quarter sized circular bruise on each arm coincidentally where the three tricep heads intersect (Long Head, Lateral Head and Medial Head).

My Chest/Tricep workout was Friday, always intense, but no more than usual and I have never noticed any bruising from workouts before. I had no unusual pain during or after the workout.

I have been working out hard for about 5 weeks now and I am 47 --- the last time I seriously worked out was 10 years ago and never recall anything like this before, maybe it's my age, I don't know?

I can't think of what else might cause this ... is it good? is it bad? a normal thing? is this common with some people?
Haven't worked out in 10+ years due to injury & situation. New Year 2011, got sick of seeing a feeble body in the mirror.

If it is just a small bruise and you have no pain I would say it is harmless. If it hurt I would say you pulled a muscle.

Are you on any meds that might cause easier bruising? If so, that's a possibility.

No pain, even when I press on it - just an odd location (and on both arms)

Negative - I usually have to get a good pop before I bruise.

I think it is rather odd to have it on both arms in the same place. The only thing I can think of is that a machine you are using has a pad or knob and as you use the machine a small bruise in the identical location on both arms is present. So check the equipment you are using and report back, I would not be surprised if that is it.
A home gym consisting of Bowflex Power-Pro XTL and power blocks(5-90). Also been working out consistently at a community center-JCC since November of 2014. Nice to have the home gym to fall back on off days.

I was assuming that with a triceps exercise that no pads etc would be involved...missed that.

Default Did the bruises go away?

Hi Ray! Did the bruises on your triceps go away? How long did they last? My husband has had symmetrical bruises on his triceps for over 9 months, and no one has been able to diagnose him. What about you?

When I've tried googling for this condition. This post in this forum is the only thing that seems to be similar to what my husband has.
