Default Shin splints and calves hurt bad

    Hey Fitness Freaks!

I am Max, 17 years old and usually I live in Austria. Currently I am spending half a year in America, more precise in Delton, Michigan. I am in the Cross Country team in high school and we train every day from Monday to Friday. 3pm-5pm. I wasn't used to run everyday and I got bad shin splints and calves now. My first hour in school is weightlifting and we have a pretty decent gym. This is of course my favourite lesson.
So what can I do to make my pain better?

    Greetz!

I used to get shin splints. I fixed it by using a golf ball+foam roller for deep tissue massage on the bottoms of my feet and my calves.

A student said to his master: "You teach me fighting, but you talk about peace. How do you reconcile the two?" The master replied: "It is better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener in a war."

shin splints are normally caused by running too far too soon, distance needs to be increased slowly, also take a look at your running shoes, cheap shoes are a no no. you can buy specific inserts to help, a professional running shoe shop may help, get a trainer to see how you run, your technique may be off, failing that you may need to see a physio

You need to up your running cadence to 165 strides per minute, which can help bring your legs under them and prevent over-striding and over stressing the shin.
