    well one's a squat.. the other is a deadlift... look at the vids of barbell squats and barbell DL's to see the difference a little clearer. I can see how they seem to be the same when doing them with db's... but they are definitely different

    But they're not.


    Squat video -
    You start standing up. The back position at the bottom of the lift is more upright.

    Deadlift Video -
    You start at the bottom. The back position of more over the weight so that the shoulders are in front of the DBs. With the back down more, there is more of an emphasis on back extension as you lift the weight, which is what conventional barbell deadlifts do.

    Yes I'm starting to see it now - I had to line up the videos next to each other to see the difference...
