Mike I just made them per the recipe in a SS bowl. Mixed most of the way with a wooden spoon, then jumped in with both hands to finish the mixing. As someone else mentioned, spray a little cooking spray on your hands to help it release a little better. Flattened out as best as I could in a rectangular bread pan lined with parchment paper and threw them in the freezer.

you coat your hands with non stick spray first. then push it into a bread pan lined with parchment or wax paper.

i like to put everything in my food processor (not my blender) and pulse it a fewq times until it forms a sticky ball. i then remove it with a greased spatula or greased hands and press into the pan and put it in the fridge. make sure you lay plastic wrap in top of the bars to keep them from getting a crust (drying out).

    Made em!

Pretty dang delicious. My only thoughts, are that they might be a bit too sweet. I even used natural PB (if you haven't had, its not sweet at all) and it was a bit much. They actually tasted better after being in the fridge for 2 days... I'll most def make these again! Took all of 5 minutes!

I was totally wondering how they were when frozen?? Turn out okay? I'm thinking you could make a triple batch and freeze em up... Just wondering how they'll defrost...

They were great! They are perfectly edible straight out of the freezer. No defrosting necessary
I was thinking about making another batch without the honey, or at least with less. Wondering if that is the main culprit in the stickyness, and for you the sweetness?

What do you think this would be like after an MMA training session? These would be super convenient for me, but I'm just a bit concerned with the fat content from the peanut butter slowing down digestion

    Hey you,

I just made them again right now... I made them with crunchy PB this time, and scaled back the honey. We'll see what happens. Should be ready for after dinner tonight, I'll let you know!! I love eating these freaking things.... So much better to reach for one of these than an entire row of Oreos

Oh and thank you for the freezer info!

Once I've perfected them the way I want, I'm going to make a huge batch to freeze up. I sprayed THE HECK out of my hands this time too with Pam and it was much more tolerable to make them into bars!

Haha only ONE row of Oreos? I could wipe out two rows no problem Those things are/were addictive!

Looking forward to hearing how they turned out. I need to make another batch too. What flavor protein did you use? I was thinking ordering some Iso-Fuel cake batter and peanut butter flavors just for the bars

Chocolate-coconut sounds good too! You worked way harder on those than I do. I make one large mass in the bottom of the pan then cut them into "bars" with a knife!
    They do look good though

    These are really good.

I made a batch of these last night. I cut it into 10 bars. I calculated each bar to have 180 calories, 21g protein, 14g carbs and 4.5g fat. I wrapped each bar in wax paper and packed two of them into an ice chest on top of one of those blue chiller blocks. The bars held together just fine, but were pretty sticky. I'm going to test them in a lunch bag at room temperature to see if they melt or stay together.

They are suprisingly rich considering the low fat content.

I made the recipe and loved it. Added some flaxseed and chia seeds for some extra fiber.
