Ok, when a supplement has 8/2011 listed as the expiration date, does it mean that it's good until the end of July or end of August? Also, how long after the expiration date can supps be taken? Stuff like protein powder and BCAAs.

till end of August :P and always check the best before date on the supplements because they are there for a reasonThough you shouldnt throw away your protein powder ( if it is protein powder), just check if the colour is still good and that it hasnt been stored in a damp place :P

if its kept in a cool dry place it should be fine. things are good for years past their expiration dates. the only reason companies dont reccomend using things past their expiration date is because of legal restictions from the FDA.
the FDA says product expirations have to match research on them. most companies dont bother doing research past 2-3 years. its not worth the money seeing as most people will use a product well before the date. theres actually been some studies (one by the military) on using presciptions past expiration, some 10 years past.
