Good post Steve.![]()
Class 4 good right?...sigh
I'm only a Class I. Took me 25 years to get there.
I can tell you I have spoken to this federation's president several times, and only a handful of people each year reach Elite level. So it's rare, and quite an accomplishment.
Awesome charts Steve. Definitely goes to show that I need to get my Squat and Bench numbers up, in an effort to get close to my class rank for deadlift.

Is there not different standards for different age groups?
Stats: Bench- 315, Squat- 440, Deadlift- 530, 6'4", 215lbs
Goals by end of year: Bench- 365, Squat- 500, Deadlift- 600, 6'4", 230lbs
Also another question: i weighed in at 197 this morning, does that put me in the 198 or 181 category?

Think I am class about 30!!!!!!
I can't even squat my bodyweight yet. It is hard when you are not naturally strong. Time to hit the gym hard and take it serious.
I assume these are 1 rep figures.

No, generally not. It's pretty common to see lifters putting up huge numbers in their 40s. Take me for example, all my all-time best PRs came at 44.
Not as many lifters compete in strength training sports post-50, so that is perhaps why you don't see standards for 60-70 year old men.
I'm pretty sure I'll squat upper fives in a few years. Less than one year and I am in, and around 405. My goal is 50lbs a year for the next few.

How am I a class I squatter, but a class III deadlifter? Weaknesses, lol.
Wow, that makes me feel good about my lifts. I'm at about 1 year and I'm already at class II squat and III bench and deadlift. Now if I could just get under 200 if be even higher classes.

Actually, I just looked up the new jersey state records (not tested) and 198 is the strongest class. Maybe I'd wanna stay over 200.

We'll see, mid summer is looking like my first one.

Is the total chart including the strict curl? I read their rules statement on their web site and it appears it is not unless Im reading it wrong.
Total is dead squat bench correct?

At the risk of sounding ignorant, why is the total of the 3 lifts more than the "Powerlifting Total"?
I would have thought the Total would be equal to the 3 lifts....
Best Gym Lifts...doesn't matter, they don't count!
Best Meet Lifts:
Squat : 325
Bench: 210
Dead: 353
Total: 888
Next Meet: Sept 21. South Florida...Goal: 915 lb total
Not everyone is good at all 3 lifts.
For example, I am ranked top 6 in the US for deadlifts and squats (in my class), but my bench isn't top 40.
A reason to try 1rm. Cool stuff. Also gives me some more goals i hadn't been working towards
Top 6 in the country in 2 lifts...whether people realize that or not...that is pretty impressive Steve.
Very impressive indeed.
