    Default Hunterace's lifting feathers log

Well a little pushing by the awesome people here at M&S I'm starting a log.
A little back story for those who don't know...I got hurt at work almost 6 years ago. I now live with a chronic headache that never goes away and photo sensitivity. I can't work anymore so I stay at home with my son. I've tried many over the counter meds, doc perscribed meds, shots into my head, and a really painful surgery that implanted a stimulator into my head, now removed.... Nothing has helped. Since I haven't worked in years, poor diet, and recently found out my testosterone is lower than a 90 year old man, I got real weak and fat. So now I'm on test shots, started just under a month ago, and starting to finally feel normal. I have always written down my workouts so transferring them here won't be too hard.
The routine I choose to start out with is.... http://www.muscleandstrength.com/wor...e-program.html
We will see how it goes as I have no clue on my starting strength, but I'll work it out.
Another note is I lift at home. I have free weights, bench bar, ez curl and dumbells bars, eliptical, treadmill, total gym, stationary bike, pull up bar.

First workout since starting test shots
    4-4-12
4 min treadmill warmup, also did some moving some crud around
    Squat
    120x5 too light, 150x5/5
    Military Press
    50x5 too light, 70x5 too light, 90x5
    Deadlift
180x5 maybe too much, unsure form was good
    25 min eliptical 65% mhr

Felt great to workout and not feel dead after two sets, having energy and test makes a big difference.

Good stuff starting the journal here man. Lift hard, but listen to your body as to prevent injury. I'll be watching.

Yay that you started this!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know your motivation will grow every single day that you push yourself through another routine, so don't quit on you!

PS...everyone knows i love pictures, but i don't need them here. But I do think you should take them for yourself to help track your progress. Every noticable movement in the right direction is aid to your motivation to continue on towards success in what you wish to achieve.

    I will be following also...and supporting....and pushing.

Maryellen... I have my current fat pics posted in the critique my physique. They were taken after my first initial weight loss, but what's 10-15lbs, I'm still in crap shape.

Well like I said you're not alone in the lifting feathers dept! Your squat is right around the range that I'm at currently, and your military press beats mine I think.

    4-6-12
    5 min treadmill warmup
    Squats
    150x5/5/5
    Bench Press
135x5/5/5 could have done more but I'm in no rush
    Pull Ups
1, failed on second one -5/-5/-5 surprised I even did one, switched to negatives because I'm weak. I could definitely feel it though.
No cardio after this workout because it's late and I need to cook a bunch of food.

Good workout, considering I started much later after my pre-workout meal because of church. Decided I will increase weight every other time on squats because they are worked 3 days a week.

Awesome log so far. I'm in. Like others have said those numbers aren't weak at all and will increase real quick the most important part is form and progression. Keep moving and watching your form so you don't get abstupid injury, like many of us have done.

So today being an off day I decide to start he day with a half hour of LIT cardio on my eliptical. After about 12 minutes it seems to be rocing back and forth near the pedals. I then spend he next hour trying to find the problem. Tightening things, then taking it apart. Come to find one of the main support beams is cracked in half. Not at the weld mind you in the middle. I'm so pi$$ed. I bought it a few months back, used it almost every day and now it's broke. Warranty was 90 days so I'm screwed that way too. Hopefully my uncle can weld it and it'll be fixed. Meanwhile I have my treadmill upstairs now. Not a good day, enough bi!ching, glad I get to hit the weights tomorrow.

I'm so glad you started a log and will be following, I'm sure I'll see inspiring progression! I'm lifting much lighter feathers than you, so I lol'd (in a good way) at your log title.

It seems that you are doing what you can to make lemonade...keep at it! We're only as good as how we handle what life throws at us. I probably would have kicked the elliptical and made it worse! At least you have an alternate there Keep up the positive attitude and keep trucking along!

Whudda pain in the arse, eh? Our eliptical is out of comission too and has been for months. When you use it, it starts making a god awful knocking noise. I guess it'd be damn lazy of me to post about it on a forum and now not begin the disassembly/diagnosis/repair process. Well, now I have plans for Tuesday evening.

    Good luck with yours.

    4-9-12
    7 min treadmill warm up
    Squats
    160X5/5/5
    Military Press
    95x5/5/5
    Chin Up
    1 horrible, -5/-5/-5 negatives
30 min of LIT cardio on treadmill

Overall my workout sucked! I felt tired all day, and I slept good so my test shot is running out . By the time I did chin ups I was burned out. Not like a month ago but I could feel the difference for sure. I did more weight on my lifts and had good form, but just didn't feel as good. Well my form on the chin up was pretty sloppy or funny, good thing no one saw . Guess I shouldn't complain.

Yea pretty much. Tomorrow I'll feel more tired, then Wednesday I'll take my shot. Supposed to wait til Thursday but it's my anniversary Wednesday and I have to lift so.....yea I'm taking it. I'll let my doc know I took it a day early but I don't think it'll matter. I still believe I'll need to be on weekly shots, even if he lowers the dose. Guess only time will tell
