    Default Random Gym Observations....

    So I been fairly observant at the gym lately between prolonged rest periods ( on big ass compound sets). As school/college is out my gym has been rather JAM packed past couple of months for the summer... & since I carry a notebook to the gym (lifting geek) whenever I wasn't noting down figures ,reps,sets accomplished etc I decided to write a list of what I saw around me over the past 2 weeks & lo & behold below are my witnessed accounts ;

    1. There are a lot of BIG dudes there. Big as in with a ton of muscles. Makes me feel so small and out of shape sometime

    2. There are a lot of people who just sit at the machines and stare at themselves in the mirror. They don't look like they are resting. They just sit... and chill... occupy the machine... and stare at themselves.

    3. Some people just have bad form.

    4. Weight bar collars don't exist. They're all either lost, misplaced, or people just don't use them especially the alpha macho bravado dudes

    5. No room to hardly do anything sometimes at full capacity evenings usually!

    6. Pull up bars don't exist. As in, just a simple horizontal unbroken bar. You've got big steel cage things with numerous protruding handhold things but never just a simple bar. I can't find a way to do pullups with the proper amount of spacing between my hands so I just do these as warm up prior to my lifting starting.

    7. Mirrors all over the goddamn place. It's hard for me to do an intense workout when there's a mirror right in front of me and my focus gets broken by the sight of myself. Just give me a blank wall (Personal opinion here some thrive on reflections)

    8. Lots of people doing bicep curls...YAWN

    9. Lots of people reading a book as they sit, sip on lemonade, and effortlessly pedal the exercise bike. Emphasis on "without effort." Bet their heart rate is volcano dormant!

    10. Some newbs who go there and are absolutely clueless on what to do. These guys I feel bad for (the aimless looking around , random equipment selection gives this away)

    11. Naked people in the locker rooms and no curtains on the showers - WTF
    I avoid lockers now go Gym dressed to lift leave gym shower and all that at home since I live like a 5 min drive away.

    Anyways I was bored & had time to kill, So just pulled out my notebook and wrote down all that I had seen in these past two weeks. Feel free to share your weird /random/ curious moments experienced or witnessed at your local lifting haven!

    12. There are people sat making notes about other gym-users.

    I don't really go to a gym "much" so don't see these sorts of things but they're fun to read about.

    ^^^ Mua ha ha ha exactly Peach! Furious scribbles of discrimination... also I forgot to mention a rather primary observation I keep becoming a victim off, simply due to school being out;

    13. Lots of hot jailbait working out with weights. Realizing these chicks are anywhere from 14-20 because the gym I go to has a student plan that allows various students to go free / off peak etc

    13 A. Try not to stare at jailbait doing squats.

    13 B. Try not to stare at jailbait doing good mornings.

    My gym is typically really old people who chill on the elliptical/treadmills, or muscle heads on the free weights lol.

I can't find a way to do pullups with the proper amount of spacing between my hands so I just do these as warm up prior to my lifting starting.

    Yep this is annoying, same as my gym. Fine for wide grip pullups, or hammer grip type chins, but no way of doing standard chinups, as the handles are too wide.

    Falsely implied there mate I never said I was scared ! It's the actual sanitation/hygiene situation of the locker room thats pretty vile at times! Lol @ the shrivelled Jonny syndrome post work-out. Haha despite the legal age being 16 here I'd rather be illicitly solicitating with 18+ chicks anyday!

    I track work-out progress being made based on my personal motives & goals on the program I use. Logic dictates its common sense to record results i.e. write it all down! the other observations are just a comedic aspect of day to day ongoings at the gym & its somewhat amusing to mark! You make it out to sound like the 'sole' reason I lift is so that I have literature content to capitalize off..... No book plans here mate! I don't blatantly stare them out mate & scribble it all down in one day that's psycho shizzzzle!!! I'm peripherally aware of it all over the last two weeks or so....read what I write & than feel free contest it within context.

    P.S: Personally to me whats weird as hell is the constant posting & watching of youtube videos of aesthetically obsessed irresponsible juicers using insane amount of BB style language jargon & than further going on to try & mirror their work-outs & lifestyle in the hopes you will reap the same rewards Sigh

    I've only been going to the gym for a couple months, but I've got some things I've seen that frustrate me, and some that are just confusing.

    Firstly, guys who weigh themselves every 10 minutes. Whats the point? Surely the only weight you've gained is the water you've drunk.

    Secondly, girls who go to the gym with a great body, wear a training bra and tight pants, leave nothing to the imagination, then scowl at me when they catch me checking them out. I'm sorry, but if you look good and you're wearing next to nothing, what do you expect guys to do? Admire the painting on the roof instead?

    Thirdly, people who put their ENTIRE body into a simple cable pushdown. The only thing meant to be moving is your forearms, yet I constantly see people on the tips of their toes, then bending their hips and arching their back to pull the rope down. I don't know if anyone else has seen people do this, but I see it at least a couple times a week.

    #14 - Seeing people steal weight plates or dumbbells when the person using them isn't watching. Saw that happen a few times Monday and Tuesday.

    I chuckled a little bit because that has actually happened to me before. I was resting between sets for incline benching and, without my noticing, someone ninja'd a 10lb plate off of one side and I didn't notice until I was under the bar. I never found out who did that but come on people, have a little respect.
    To find us you must be smart. To catch us you must be quick. To kill us you must be kidding.

    Someone's choice of training gear isn't an invitation to make them feel uncomfortable. There are ways to look at someone without being rude.
    "Look son, there comes a time in every man's life when he has to make a decision. Do you want to be big, powerful, jacked, yoked-up, have women everywhere want you and men fear you . . . or do you want to do CrossFit?"

    Indeed. Which is why I carry a pen with me that conveniently falls out of my pocket at the most opportunistic times.
