    Default "What's Past is ProLOGue"

    Attachment 17429
    Hey there,

Let me start this by saying: I'm not sure how consistent this Log will be, I tend to get bored easily... In addition, this log maybe a little different from the others. I workout at home, so I sadly don't have access to lifting equipment, what I do to workout typically involves workout DVDs, YouTube Vids, and I plan on getting back into Running(more on that later.)

About Me: I started losing weight Sophomore year, before that I never worked out or thought about what I ate. I always had the attitude that I would lose weight, but later... I started workout out because of a single thought I had one day in December, I wish I knew what day because that day completely changed my life. The Thought was: "If you are going to lose weight, If you could lose weight you would already have..." and that thought made me mad. I've always been a very proud and actually believe that I could do anything; that thought made me question my belief which made me mad. I became determined to prove it wrong and do it in a healthy way; I was ~140lbs at the time and that summer, on my 16th Birthday, I hit 119lbs; over 20lbs because I was p!ssed off, haha!
Since then I've lost more fat and gain muscle and I am actually 120lbs, but look better.

    Attachment 17430< ~140lbs........................115lbs>Attachment 17431

Reason for Starting Log: I've been having trouble staying motivated and I guess I'm hoping this will embarrass me into keeping up with working out as I quickly approach the end of my high school career and senioritis seems to be taking hold of all parts of my life. Also, coming up this summer I plan on doing two races that I hope to get good times for, so I thought I'd track my progress here.

    My Plan:
I plan on tracking how much I run, what DVDs I do, and really just anything else I want. So please excuse me if I seem to be all over the place.

Thanks for reading this far, or at least skipping down to this note I'll start by logging my workout from yesterday in my next post.

    Sunday, April 28

Goal: Running: Testing the H2O... As far and as long as possible, till I get bored.

    Type: Treadmill

    Stats:
    Distance: ~2.4 miles
    Time: ~25 mins
Speed: Unknown but my past average was around 12min/mile
Feeling: Felt good, could have gone longer but it was getting late.

    Special Notes:
    - Iphone fell and I was force to stop the treadmill so that is why all my info above is vague, I was around 10mins at the time and before that I did not look at my distance, so details are unknown.
    - I was also testing a new music running app called "RockMyRun" I really liked it and I think I will use it again.

Welcome to the club! So far the log is motivating enough for me to casually skim back through my days and see pictures/results to further push myself. I hope you achieve the same outcome from yours

rockmyrun IS awesome! glad you enjoy it as well

If you don't mind me asking, can I get some more information on the races? Trained for a LONG time on my past run, so I'm no expert, but I did cut a startling amount of time off my run.

Sure! Both races are pretty short. The first is a 5k Run/Obstacle Course I'm doing with my mom in June, It's a "Zombie Run" if you've not heard of that:http://www.runforyourlives.com/
The second is a 8k Run/Walk that is popular around where I live in August. Last year I did the walk and my time was 1 hour 20 mins about, so obviously I want to do better then the walking speed but I really have no goal for what time I want. It was quite fun last year but I was with my Mom and Cousin but this year I'll be alone at least as of now I'm alone. Still, I'm excited!

did you just keep running by him, or do you have a treadmill?

and @ the zombie run of course i've heard of it, i ran it down in miami it was a LOT of fun! though i hear in some places where they don't have as many people attending it's not as much fun.

btw an 8k is by NO means short. Run that, I'm sure you've run more in one sitting than probably 40% americans run in a YEAR.

Friendly advice. find someone that is a friend/that can keep around the same pace as you. Not only will it make the run much easier, but having someone to talk to while walking and motivate to get back at a solid pace is extremely helpful. at a walk and not till august? You'll probably cut that time in half at this pace

Thanks for the advice! Yeah the zombie race will prolly be on the smaller end considering where i live but who know I is a few towns over, so it might be bigger then I expect. I'm really excited either way! I know I can run both the zombie and the 8k it's really just about a good time and getting a little practice.

    Wednesday, May 1

    Goal: 2 miles

    Running Stats:
    (treadmill)
    Distance: 2 miles
    Time: 22:53 mins
    Speed: 1st mile 11:38mins/mile 2nd mile 11:15mins/mile
Feeling: Felt awesome! Left calf started hurting a bit but after walking a bit it would be better then I could run again.

Other: Went for a 1 mile casual walk

    Special notes:

While running I felt like the second mile was paced much slower then that first but I just did the math and it was faster! I usually have a hard time pacing myself, I get on and want to take off at a speed I can't maintain. I did tried a little today to control myself but I was surprised to see it worked so well.
After my first run on this Log, I noticed my ankle started hurting about half way through. I decide to try out different shoes so I borrowed a pair or my mom's. That really helped she had much more cushion on her tennis shoes then mine. I definitely need to invest in a new pair. I use to love mine, they were apparently decide to feel like your running bare foot but evidently that's not a good choice for me.
HAPPY! It was crazy warm today and I got to workout in shorts and a tank for the first time this year!!!

warm weather and still running on that treadmill? tsk tsk. Regardless! practice makes progress, and getting a better SECOND mile is great. shows you have a much more efficient pace than mine.

And either way, the zombie race will probably be a blast. Me and a bunch of navy friends had a great time

Haha, it was windy and I'm self-conscious, no judging! Lol. And thanks, I'm still surprised about the second mile I could have sworn it took forever but my treadmill's clock doesn't lie.

I was actually talking to my mom today about the zombie race, she was who I was gonna do it with, but she has surgery last month and is not sure if she'll be ready by then to run it with me. I'm sort of sad about that, hopefully she'll be ready or I can convince one or several of my friend to do it with me. I don't think I'd want to do it alone, but I really want to do it.

    • Had awesome luck with Pandora while running; best songs came up!!
    • I love doing Blogilates Videos, the girl who does them is sort of annoying at times but the workouts are great. I literally could not push myself into a sitting position after the Cobra Push-ups in the second video.
    • HAPPY!! I found my fav summer workout shirt!! I made it from an old T-shirt so it's super soft!!

    REST DAY!!
Was hanging out with friend all day and basically just got home, so today will be my rest day. Ironically I could not workout because I went to a Track Invitational today, that's the main reason I was hanging out with friends. Plus we went out to eat and for Ice cream and then hung out at the one girl's house.
(sooo, might have gone crazy with calories but hey I'm young )

Btw most of my friend don't really know to what extent I workout and my one friend challenged me to a Push-up contest and a Balance Contest.... Of course, I beat her with flying colors, hahaha!

    Running Goal: 1 miles

    Running Stats: (treadmill)
    Distance: 1 miles
    Time: 11:49 mins
    Speed: 11:49mins/mile (duh...)
    Feeling: Good

    Video:

    Other:
    • Dancer's Sweeps - 10x ea. leg
    • Leg Outs - x12
    • Oblique Twists - x12
    • Cheerleader L's - 20 sec ea. leg (shaking like crazy!)

    Special Notes:
I love weekend cuz I have the time to workout that I don't during a week day, plus I can spread it out over a longer period of time so I don't get bored.
My ass is dying! That video is HARD, I need to do it more!
