    Default kRichy's Training Log

    I'm 16 and have been working out for 4 years, and lifting weights for 2. Over that time I have progressed a lot, but as with all journeys in life I am still learning, and this is the first time I have ever used this forum and as such any advice or constructive criticism would be welcome. I train in my school weights room 5 days a week, mainly practising Olympic lifts and calisthenics movements, and in a gritty old-school gym 3 days a week.

    I started lifting weights with the intention of building muscle whilst improving my running. Following a bodybuilding style 3- day split (back and bi's, chest and tri's, legs and shoulders) I put on over 2 stone of lean muscle. I am 5' 11" and weigh in at 11 stone and 6 pounds. I run frequently and eat healthily as I am training for a Spartan race, and I will also soon have to pass military selection tests, so my body fat has been holding steady at around 9-10%. As I have reached a size I am comfortable at, for the past 3 months I have been following a full body workout system from this website and have experienced some nice strength gains.

    Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read my first training log post, I will post my first workout log tomorrow and any comments will be gratefully accepted.
    (ps pleasing no laughing at the amount of weight I lift, I have only recently started training in the lower rep ranges and I am still getting accustomed to it!)

    So here's my first workout:

    1.25 mile run at moderate pace (varying gradient)
    Barbell back squat: 2 warm up sets, 10x60kg, 10x70kg, 8x80kg, 5x90kg, 3x100kg
    Bench Press: 2 warm up sets, 15x40kg, 10x50kg, 10x60kg, 5x70kg
    Bent over row w/barbel: 2 warm up sets, 10x30kg, 10x40kg, 10x45kg, 6x50kg, 4x50kg
    Seated dumbbell press: 2 warm up sets, 15x10kg, 10x12.5kg, 8x15kg, 6x15kg
    Barbell curl (shoulder width grip):2 warm up sets, 15x20kg, 10x25kg, 8x30kg, 6x35kg, finished with "21's" with 20kg.
    Seated dumbbell extension (held with both hands): 2 warm up sets, 10x12.5kg, 10x15kg, 8x17.5kg (only did 3 sets)
    Finished workout, with 3x40 bodyweight push-ups, 3x50 decline bench sit-ups.
    1.5 mile run at faster speed (varying gradient)

    If anyone has any comments about this workout, I would be grateful for advice My next workout won't be posted until Friday because I'm going away with the army for three days.
