    Default Strength-building routines?

Hey. I would like to start on a routine where I'll build my strength in both "the big four" and severel compound-exercises. Any tips?

To get stronger at the 'big 4' - I assume you mean overhead press, squat, dead lift and flat bench press - you need to...

    Perform the 'big 4' exercises.

Simple? Yes. But that is all there is to it.

hi mate, although i dont agree with the tone of the above post, he is right, you need to use a program that is powerlifting or strength based, such as Candito's 4 week novice program, Grey skull LP, or beyond 5/3/1 (the standard 5/3/1 is not as good) and perform them for a few cycles and you will see massive gains. Alternatively I could provide you with free of charge coaching specific to your goals if you so wish.

Go with one of the starting strength programs, 531 boring but big or one of the 5x5 variations

Search for "The Real Arnold Schwarzenegger Beginner Programs" on google, there you will find 5x5 programs that both Reg Park and Arnold in his teen years used.

The squat, deadlift, bench press, and shoulder press ar the most effective strength-building exercises, period. The chinup and row ar nice moves too, however do not create them the main focus of your sweat — they will be help lifts to enhance the bench and shoulder press, keeping your actuation muscles in balance with the pressing ones.
