    Default Bean recipes

Does anybody have some good recipes to try for beans of any kind? I like them, but they're bland & not appetizing to eat alone. I haven't yet found a good way to add them to other (healthy)dishes or to give them a good flavor.

Any recipes for Garbonzo (chickpeas)? I unwittingly cooked a batch without taking into account how to season them.

I hate Chic Peas but they work very well in baking, a lot of people use them in brownie/cake recipes.

Make hummus with chickpeas. That's the best use of them I know of. I also add them to beef & bean chili sometimes for a slight taste and texture difference.

Other bean recipes: Ham and bean soup in all its variations. If you want it stupid-easy, just PM me and I will type out my recipe.

Hummus is good! chickpeas can be added to any stew or soup. Also can be mixed with baked beans in tomatoe sauce :0)

You can also drain a can of them, mix up some tasty surface spices (think like chili powder,(add salt to enhance flavor) or lemonpepper etc). Spray the chickpeas in a bowl, with pan spray (olive or canola). Dump the powdered spices on top and stir up until well coated. Now spread the chickpeas out on a edged cookie sheet (they won't roll off with the edge on the pan that way) in a single layer. Bake on low, around 175-200*F until dry and crunchy. Eat as a dry snack.

Chana Masala is an Indian dish made with chick peas. Give it a try.
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.

    Do this many times.

I think you should try out Mexican salad. I find it sweat and you can eat it any time.
    To prepare it, you need
    • 15 ounce of black beans
    • 1 green bell pepper
    • Frozen corn kernel
    • ½ cup olive oil
    • 1/2cup red wine
    • Vinegar 2 tablespoon
    • Lemon juice
    • Clove garlic
    • ½ table spoon ground cumin
    • 1 dash hot pepper
    • ½ teaspoon chili
    • Time 1hr 15 minutes
    Procedure
Combine the beans, wine vinegar, salt, garlic, lemon juice, lime juice, red wine, black pepper, cumin, cilantro into a bowl and mix them well. Cook them for 1 hour and add chili powder and olive oil let them cook for another 15 minutes. Wait for the meal to cool down before serving.
