    Question Weight gain so far.

Throughout the 7 months i've done Strong Lifts i've gained about 9 pounds (Mostly Muscle since I have not gotten much fatter). I used to be a pretty skinny guy, any advice on how I can eat more? Also, is 9 pounds adequate progress?

9 lbs in 7 months is slow progress, but progress nonetheless. Weight gain of about 1 lb per week is considered "normal".

1.) Calculate your BMR, add at least 300 calories to it. 2.) Do some research on macronutrient ratios; get yours figured out.

The day I did these two things is the day I started gaining some serious weight.

Now, in order to meet your calorie goals, you can do a number of things. Personally, I love milk. Whole milk. I drink at least a half gallon every day. It's one of the cheapest sources of calories money can buy. At $3.29/gal, each gallon containing 2400 cal, that's less than $0.14 per 100 calories.

A half gallon of milk? God damn, that is impressive.

I thank both of you yet again. Wish I could give reputation again

I don't eat anything during lunch at school because the food there destroys my stomach and I don't have enough money to bring more than one sandwich. Would bringing some chips help or is it empty calories?

Hmm, maybe. Jerky is quite expensive for the amount of calories it gives. But thank you anyway!

Can you not bring your own home-prepared lunch to school? Hard boiled eggs, fruits, veggies (*limited calories but healthy), GOMAD -Gallon Of Milk A Day , etc. Ripptoe of SSBBT3, is a big proponent of GOMAD, and like others have said, it is relatively cheap.

Layziebones has a ton of great recipes here on site. Check it all out!
