HI, I am 51, 174#, 5'6" and female. Over the last 4 yrs I have dropped weight down from 220# through better eating habits, and cycling. I am primarily a cyclist, but I really like lifting--Squats, Deadlift, and Bench. Overhead Press really causes pain in my bad shoulder so I try not to do those often. The lifting should help with cycling, by improving core strength, and legs/glutes (drivetrain). I started lifting Nov 2014, primarily on a Bowflex, but recently converted fully over to free weights (Oly bar, cage, bench etc) and got rid of the Bowflex.

    Bench 1RM 105#
    DL 2RM 145#
    Squat estimate 1RM 93# ( based on 10 rep @ 70#)

I was hoping to see more activity in the women's forum, but it looks like I will hang out here more. And I am using SSBBT3 for a form guide.

Hi Ridgeback303, yeah, we tend to hang about more in other areas of the forum; the women's area doesn't really get used much, except on the odd occasion, from what I've seen.

Thanks Wyatt. Yes the weight training is progressing well. I am in the process of loading my 2015 data as a personal log here. My cardio has taken a nosedive lately partly due to weather, and partly due to my husband being off work on disability for about 6wks.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I am enjoying the forum, and really getting into the lifting. It helps a lot, that my husband has taken a strong liking to lifting also. It helps keep me motivated, and gives me someone to work out with at home.
