    Default dday39 2015 basics

Figured it was time to attempt logging again. Not sure if this one will flame out like my others. Time will tell.
For openers, I've lost too much weight recently and haven't trained in over a month because of some home improvements.

Starting weight: around 145lbs -I don't know and don't care at this point. I'm done obsessing about my weight. It's derailed progress in the past. I'm eating and training to get bigger and stronger. I'm not afraid of gaining some fat. I've always been proud of my athleticism and that's still important. As long as I can hit my random jumps, run around without getting winded, etc; I'm good.

    On to the training:
    Shoulders
    Seated Press - warm up (2x16 45lbs)
    Seated DB Press - 3x16 (30)
    High Incline DB Press - 2x16 (30)
    Standing Rope Face Pulls - 4x16 (30)
    Standing Plate Front Raise - 2x16 (25)
    Standing Side Lateral Raise - 2x12 (15)

strong appetite for sure, but I can suppress hunger and drop weight like nobody's business. during my bathroom reno, I was probably putting in 14hr days and only eating dinner. couple that with the stress of finishing the project and my basement flooding had me not sleeping.
it was a rough few weeks, but the effort and stress was worth the payoff.

Congrats on starting a log man. I'll be watching. I too have experienced weight loss during home projects too. The first time it happened, I had a 3 week long project. Think I lost a good 10 lbs. Not really hard work, just moving around. Did most of it in the evening after work where I'd otherwise just have been sitting around like a vegetable. Good advice for anyone looking to shed a bit of fat... take on a home project... win/win!

    how long since you've lifted?
front squats at 135 are harder than they sound.

couldn't say for sure. I started my bathroom on Feb 27th, so its been at least that long before training this week. I haven't front squatted in at least 6 months. Figured it would be less of a blow to the ego than back squatting.
I'm kind of just doing a quick maintenance phase here before jumping into the program I plan to use going into and through most of the summer.

Obviously, I'll have to make some modifications

yeah, best to start slow after a long time off.
feeling sore after the first few workouts?

    the "complete power look", huh?

meh, its in line with my overall goals and its right in that sweet spot of volume/intensity. hard and heavy grinds me out and high(er) rep stuff bores me to death.
then again, how powerful can a 5'9 150lbs dude look?

more weight on the front squats.
those are really tough. how much weight do you think you can handle once you get back in to it?

and getting kinky with the elevated hip thrusts.

never really gave it much thought. I did consider throwing 185lbs on last night and seeing what I could do. I've only got 300lbs of weights, so I guess that's a goal.

its a great movement. plus, I need to keep my conditioning up in that position/movement. Maybe I need to add some speed work.

moving in the right direction. its all progress.
