The best way to lose weight is a caloric deficit, you can still eat on small plates but not lose weight due to net amount of calories!

Another one of those thread, the mere mention of "more weight" makes this sound like a quick fix

Here's a better way to lose weight: eat sensibly every day and allow time for the body to lose it

    1. Eat less than you burn.
    2. Burn more than you eat.
    3. Um... Ok I got stuck at 2... Couldn't come up with a "top 5."
Donít chase the 1%, there is no magic training routine or diet thatís going to provide any measurable results over the basic principles for getting huge and strong: Train heavy, eat and sleep more.

I stopped lifting about a year and a half ago. Weighed about 200lb with 18% BF. Didn't have the time to continue lifting because my girlfriend was going through some pretty crazy medical issues, and I was working 2 jobs and doing night classes 2x's a week.

In the last year and a half I ballooned up to 225lb because I didn't have the time to sit down and eat a normal healthy meal. Was always eating on the go, etc.

Decided 2 weeks ago that I had to put a stop to it. Started eating nothing but lean meat (chicken and Turkey), a ton of veggies all day long, and would drink a healthy shake a little after dinner to curb my night time appetite. Would mix almond milk, cocoa powder, raw honey, almonds, strawberries, blueberries, and whatever other fruit I was feeling at the time. Dropped down from 225lb to 217lb when I checked this morning. Plus I "feel" so much better. I haven't exercised at all other than a 30 minute walk twice a week. I really want to start back in the gym, but need to get my schedule in order first.

OP - I don't think you really need all of those steps. I mean I am sure they won't hurt, but I think what Lazy and 5kg are saying is more beneficial, and simpler to follow. It's basically what I am doing. Just eat more of the healthy stuff, and less of sugar based foods/drinks. Plus drinking tons of water is a great way to keep the pounds off.

Absolutely true. And no other way. No need to complicate it. Calories in, calories out - as simple as that.

Swimming is also helpful and a little stress (my dad says it's normal and helps to reorganize your mind and achieve your goals).
