    Default Started lifting again

Hi! It has been a long long time since I gave up lifting, for several reasons. But not I am determined that I will let nothing get in the way of bodybuilding. I made a poor start at first and had "paralysis by analysis". I regret it, and I want to make a fresh start. After fixing a solid diet foundation, I have two options. Please select one for me.

1: Go to a gym- ready made equipment and a trainer. (gym's general trainer. That's what they said to me.)
2: Buy an adjustable dumbbell for hostel (I live in a hostel actually): less expenditure every month (no gym fees) which means I can spend more on food. Saves time in walking to gym. But I will have no pull up facilities in hostel.
    How do I start?

Do not buy a trainer, just to a basic routine, and focus on progressive overload. Trainers are full of crap a majority of the time.
