My Lil bro is 14 years, very skinny and strength less, never worksout, but he has crazy abs.... I'm 17, not skinny, but got a bit fatter and my belly is getting big... been lifting for a month now but no abs... What do I do?

dont worry about visible abs. either you have them or you dont. it is no indication of fitness, only amount of fat on your bones.
focus on getting stronger safely. eat sensibly & get adequate rest.
do sprints if you can, i believe them to be the best & most underrated exercise.

Ahhhh you're still so young! You shouldn't worry too much about it since your body still has to go through changes. However, I recommend doing a mix of cardio, weight lifting, and ab workouts. Big emphasis on cardio because that will help you shed fat from your body at a rapid pace. Weight lifting and ab workouts also burn calories and shed fat, but help you tone up more.

Oh, and don't forget that a well-balanced diet that includes protein will help you become more lean/shredded.

Don't worry about it too much. Like I said, you're still very young! If I were you, i'd participate more in recreational sports or some sort of outdoor activity to get my cardio in.

Thanks a lot man, I eat a lot of protein and carbohydrates too.... But I don't run and jog because a fitness trainer said if I jog too much I wouldn't get big but he didn't tell me how often to jog, sprint....

@plugeye Thanks for this, I'll probably just focus on weight lifting and eating healthy, how often should I sprint?

You won't get bigger by just running alone...but it'll help you get more shredded. My advice to you is try to lose as much fat as possible, then bulk up. So definitely start sprinting and fast paced exercises like that that'll make you sweat, then lift everyday at the gym.

Something a lot of bodybuilders do is shed fat by doing more cardio so they can "bulk up clean" afterward. Which means they can begin bulking up (getting bigger) from a clean slate essentially (bulking up when you have less fat = HUGE muscles lol)

I'm telling you dude, make sure you do some cardio on top of weight lifting if you wanna see those abs.

I was told that I don't need to cut because I'm not actually "fat" .... And that I should just bulk up @fruitsofwell

I was told by a fitness trainer that I'm not fat as to loose weight, I should just bulk up.... Is this wrong?
