    Default Help with new program

So I started lifting weights back in December at my local gym and I have become addicted. My gym is very small and only has one barbell station to do bench, squats and deads. With the lack of equipment and the amount of people that go to the gym I have found myself always using the isolation machines. I have seen some results over the past 2.5 -3 months but much more in the strength department than in lean muscle mass.
I am starting to work on building a small home gym in my basement with an olympic bench/squat rack and a place to do deads and other things. I have been taking a long look into starting the 5x5 stronglifts routine once I get all set up but I want to back sure this is the right place to start. I have been lifting at the gym for a few months so I am not a total newbie but pretty close I guess. My goals are to gain mass and maybe lose some body fat along the way. I know I carry too much body fat and but I decided to bulk this winter and then drop the fat this summer. SO...... is the stronglift routine right for me or should I look into another compound routine to add muscle and not just strength. First picture is from November and the second one is from yesterday. Thanks in advance.

At this point, my friend, building strength is going to build muscle. Good choice on the SL 5x5 routine. Stick with it for as long as you can keep adding weight. Build a solid strength base. Take advantage of the gains you can make starting out with a good barbell routine like StrongLifts. You will thank yourself for it later.
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.

    Do this many times.

    stronglifts is the correct routine
Just make sure you are eating properly for your goal
    This will help you:

Eat in a caloric surplus, meaning eating more kcals than you need to maintain in order to gain muscle, size, and strength.

Stronglifts 5 x 5 is an excellent starter routine - as mentioned above just stick to it as long as you can adding weight consistently!
