    Default Texas Method (cbroadd)

    Totally pumped to start the Texas Method. Here are some beginning stats. I have not tested 1RMs. Here are my 5RMs:

    Squat 5RM: 300
    Deadlift 5RM: 335
    Bench 5RM: 215
    Press 5RM: 145


    Current goals are as follows:

    6 months (September 2016)
    • Squat: 355x5
    • Deadlift: 415x5
    • Bench: 265x5
    • Press: 185x5



    1 year (March 2017)
    • Squat: 405x5
    • Deadlift: 495x5
    • Bench: 315x5
    • Press: 225x5
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.

    Do this many times.

    Deadlift

    Squat: Good opportunity to focus on technique @ 90% 5RM.
    Press: Tight core and glutes for a good solid base.
    Deads: Overhand grip on all reps tonight. Grip good. Hold last rep as long as possible.
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.

    Do this many times.

    RDL

    Squat: Cue - corkscrew feet into ground. Technique good.
    Bench: OK.
    B.A. Pullups: Keep scapulas retracted throughout. Elbows to floor.
    RDL: Been forever. Programmed 5 sets, but will work up to 5 sets.
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.

    Do this many times.

    Squat: 305 felt good. Could have hit 310 but staying patient.
    Press: OK.
    Cleans: Couple of good reps today. Need to practice technique. Will stay at 135. Shoulder mobility good at rack.
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.

    Bench: W/Us 135, 165, 185. Getting better every WO. Good bar path and bar speed.
    Deadlift: W/Us225, 255, 280. OK
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.

    Squat: Not as heavy as I had expected it to be. Watch depth, though.
    Bench: Use more gradual ramp-up.

    RDL: Added 1 set for 4 total. Working up to 5x10.
    Finisher: Superset BB Row/Bench Press - 135/135 x 10/10, 10/10, 10/10
    Pick up heavy things.
    Put them down.
    Then pick them up again.
