    Default eatntrain's workout log

    Hello, everyone!

I figured I'd start my own log to share with you and to keep track of my progress.
I plan on adding up a log whenever I'm not too busy with work so, yeah here's one.

    Height: 5'8"
    Weight: 170lbs
    Gender: Female
    BF: 28%
Goal: Drop body fat to 20-22%

I have a long way to go to reach my goal. My typical routine inludes circuit HIIT and strength training. My weight often fluctuates and it varies from week to week but I couldn't care any less. I depend more on seeing what my body looks like instead of what the scale says.

Anyway, for today I hit the gym and did the following exercises:

Pre-workout snack: 1 pack low-carb rice cakes and 1 tbsp almond butter

25 minutes run on treadmill at a pace of 10km/h
20x3 8lbs dumbbell alt bicep curls
    20x3 8lbs pushup rows
    20x3 8lbs triceps kickbacks
10x3 20lb bent over barbell rows
    10x3 8lbs shoulder overhead press
    10x3 30lb triceps pushdown
    10x3 bench dips
    10x3 8lbs lateral raises

Post-workout: 1 serving low fat yogurt with berries

Was this arm day? Have you considered adding barbell compound exercises? They will work more muscle, and do more to boost your metabolism.

Yes, it was arm day! I've done it before, I guess I just haven't thought of doing them the day I posted that log... haha. But I will next time I hit my arms, thanks for the suggestion!

    Workout for 11/13

Usually do body-weight cardio plus a tad plyo on Sundays [to hopefully drop the body fat], so yesterday I did

    10 minutes jump rope
    3 sets, 5 minutes burpees
3 sets, 5 minutes minutes jumping jacks
    20x4 wall balls
    20x4 tuck jumps
    20x4 mountain climbers
    20x4 squat jumps
    20x4 high knees
    20x4 plank jacks
    20x4 skater plyos

Did this first thing in the morning so I went to the gym on an empty stomach. Lol. Idk how that affects my workouts but I normally do that and I turn out okay.

Post workout: Breakfast: Oatmeal (in lieu of flour) pancakes with light maple syrup, 8 ounces soy milk

Now I'm considering taking pre-workout supps [always been without it], but I think I haven't found the right product yet. Any suggestions?

    Thanks all for reading this

Squeezed in some chest workout for today:

    20 minutes on treadmill

    15x3 push ups (warm up)
15x3 10lb single dumbbell bench press
15x3 10lb dumbbell inclined bench press
    15x3 10lb dumbbell wide row
15x3 10lb dumbbell chest fly top half
15x3 10lb dumbbell chest fly bottom half
    15 push ups (cool down)

Pre workout: I had a cup of oats, a cup of non fat milk
Post workout: snacked on a handful of almonds

As for supplements - I've done a bit of a research over the weekend and I stumbled upon these pre workout supplements:

This one is a passion fruit pre workout formula, I like passion fruit so this caught my attention: http://www.gnc.com/AboutTime-AUX/pro...ctId=107078576

And this one, which is said to be 'specifically tailored' for women - http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/st...e-workout.html

Has anybody tried these supplements? How did they work for you guys? I'm really a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff, so I am in dire need of opinions and insights.

There are still a couple of stuff that I found online but I forgot to list them down (yay me lol) so I'll probably go and look up some more whenever I get the chance.

    A few notes:
So for the past week, my cravings are just very hard to supress. I also felt hungry all the time. I make sure to eat healthy, though, but they just don't seem to satisfy me enough. So I did a few reading, and stumbled upon an article which stated that inadequate fat consumption can mess up your appetite. Not sure if that is true though. Diet-wise, I don't think I'd be able to meet my required fat intake so to be sure, I looked up a supplement that could hopefully do the job for me. Here's one that I'm looking at:

    https://supplementreviews.com/kirkland/fish-oil

Has anybody ever tried this before? When I was little, I've seen my dad take these. Wish I could ask him how it worked for him but sadly, he's no longer here so there's that.. So yeah, I'd appreciate your comments about this. And please feel free to make suggestions. Thanks again for your time!

Today's workout was just a good 40 minute morning run before work.

Pre workout I had a cup of brewed coffee with a tad of coco sugar, post workout was my breakfast oats and a medium banana. I just drank water, though.
