    Default Skinny Fat issue

    Hello everyone,
I am new to the site and I am looking for some opinions. Over the past 2 years I have lost 60 pounds, 258 to 198. I am 6'3 so 198 doesn't look overweight with my shirt on and I actually look a little thin. However when the shirt comes off I still have a gut and love handles. This is skinny fat to a tee. I am so proud of my weight loss but I really want to lose the remaining fat. My question is am I at a place right now where adding muscle will not only fill me out but finish off the remaining fat as well? Or should I keep going until the belly is gone? Thanks for your opinions.

Hi, have you severely cut calories,
My advice would be to sort the diet out and embark on a muscle building routine. Your diet should be adequate for muscle building

Calories are about 2000 a day and I get in about 200 g of protein daily. I don't lift yet which shows, just curious if adding muscle would help get rid of the remaining fat. My goal to start with was to lose the belly and love handles. I know that fat sticks to those spots until the very end but I feel like I would be way to skinny if I lost another 20lbs.

I haven't been tracking my fats and carbs because I'm not lifting yet. I have been trying to get 200 g protien and just eating clean for the rest of the calories. No processed foods and not drinking calories except a cup of morning coffee and a glass of skim milk in the evening. It's been a long 2 years to get where I am. Just not sure if my remaining belly fat will come off without making me look super thin. I always thought 180 was a good number but now I don't know.

Fat is an important part of any diet, especially for testosterone. Fats should include nuts, seeds, oils, oily fish, eggs. at least 20% of your diet should be composed of good fats.

Just a quick update. Is it just me or are my top abs starting to show?
