    Default What am I doing wrong?

    Hey folks;

    Hereís my story.

    Iím 37, 6í, and 110kg.. and Iím 20% body fat as per barometer.

    The problem is, my body fat isnít declining..

    I crossfit 6x a week, do weight training 3x a week, and incorporate a cardio component daily, for a minimum of 30 minutes, and the type of cardio changes daily.. swimming, elliptical, etc.

    I watch what I put into my body, and am routinely 700-1200 cals under output per day (tracked via Fitbit and MyFitnessPal).

    I have a chest day every week, and even with that, I am under, calorie - wise.

    I donít eat processed carbs, or any processed foods, for that matter.

    My macros are on point.

    Iíve been doing this routine for some time.. and Iíve watched friends get shredded while eating mcdonalds 2, maybe 3 times a week.

    I have a couple of beers or other alcohol once every few weeks, and even then itís one to three servings.

    Could it be hypothyroidism?

    Any suggestions?

    Hi, I would strongly suggest you are under eating, have you worked out your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure). You should only have a small deficit from your daily calorie requirements (300-400 calorie deficit). Losing body fat takes time and the slower the better unless you want to lose muscle and slow your metabolism

    Read the following articles

    Primusweb.org do a calorie expenditure calculator which takes into account everything a person does in the day from waking up in the morning to going to sleep. Have a search for it or any other TDEE calculator, also dont forget your calorie requirements for your basal metabolic rate

    Yeah you probably are under eating, 500 calorie deficit should be it when losing fat while maintaining everything else. Also if youíve just been consistently cutting than try to eat in a surplus or at maintenance for a couple days or a week. When your in a cut for a longtime your metabolism will slow down and adapt do to boost it back up you have to i troducemore good I to your body. I had the same problem but the solution isnít to go harder, itís actually to do less.

    Yes, although alcohol does not have any fat, it has energy value. It contains carbs from fruits or barely. It serves as a fuel to the body and produces a by-product acetate that is toxic. So when drinking, the body stops burning fats and utilizes calories from alcohol. When you drink, the body stops burning fats. So when you drink, it makes all the dietary fats you consumed throughout the day to be stored as body fats. So the long-term effect is that you will not burn any fats as long as you are on the bottle.
