Default What is my body telling me?

    I'm 34, 5'5 (and a half) and weigh 65.5kg.
I've been lifting a little here and there on and off for the past few years.
I've jumped back on the wagon in the last month and I'm feeling very confused about my physical reaction to the job.

I do cardio on my lunch breaks at work mon, wed and fri.
My job is in the workshop working on machinery so not much idle time there.
I lift at home in my garage tues, thurs and either Sat or Sunday (I'm flexible with this).
I usually train for about an hour and due to tennis elbow, I tend to hit lower body the most.

My most common exercises are 5x10
    Banded hip abductions
    Donkey kicks
    Barbell Squats
    Lunges
    Hip thrusts
    Calf raises
    Single Leg deadlifts

I mess around with other exercises but I tend to gravitate back to my old faves.
ALL of my exercises are weighted.

What I noticed was that even though I feel like I'm pushing hard during my training, I'm not feeling it later.
If I go hard, I'll take glutamine but surely it's not working THAT well.
I know you shouldn't guage your output based on how you pull up but I'm wondering if I've hit some kind of wall that people know about?

Its hard while I'm doing it, but no painful aftermath?

    Cheers

And apologies, I should have posted this in beginners advice. My bad😶

An easy explanation is "your body has adapted to performing the same exercises over and over" Its much the same with weighted gym workouts. Once you completely change your workout by performing different exercises or by adding weighted exercises

Thanks Doug. I had thought something like that but I was pretty sure I was switching it up and increasing the weight enough for that not to be a leading factor. I may have underestimated.

Hey Adina, You've seem to have hit a plateau but don't stress. Plateaus are common because of our repetitive routines. Some adapt quicker than others. Time to bust out of that plateau. You can do cheat reps, forced reps, a changed routine, supersets. Keep at getting strong. Hope this helps!
