What is your current body weight ?
What body fat level do you want to be?
What is your current body fat %

Eg: someone who is 200 lbs and 20% body fat and wanted to get to 9%

    Present % body fat = 20%
    Desirdred body fat = 9%
    Present weight = 200 lbs
    100 - 20 = 80
    100 - 9 = 91
    80 / 91 = 0.87
    200 (current weight) x 0.87 = (desired weight) = 174lbs
    200 (current weight) - 174 (desired weight) = 26 lbs of body fat to lose (@ 1lb per week = 26 weeks)

    Hope that makes sense

If not let me know !

    Hey Man

How long it will take will actually depend on how much you do and eat.

In my opinion you have to be generally active, eat moderately of whatever you like, but cut out sugar all together. Your coffee will taste awful for a while, but you will get used to it.

As far as activity is concerned, I recommend that you walk a lot and climb the stairs if you work on, say, the 3rd floor of a building. Don't take the elevator or the escalator if its only 1 or 2 floors up.

Also, walk on uneven terrain as much as possible because it forces you brain to concentrate on what your're doing and it has been found by research that keeping your brain busy with balancing while walking helps you to burn fat. Cobble stone sidewalks are excellent for this.

    Enjoy your long walks

To cut 20% fats, may take long or short depending on your strategy. The idea is you starve the body from additional fats but increase the amount of calories that you can burn. Watching what you eat and exercising are some of the things you must do to burn calories. Cardio, is recommended especially if you have the abdominal fats.
