    Default Need a first-time cardio workout routine for girlfriend

    Hi everyone!
    I've always been a bit fitness focused and attend the gym regularly. I recently got into a new relationship (4 months ago) and my girlfriend (21) has never gone to the gym once. She has always been on the slightly heavier side and she has always had insecurities about her weight. I think after seeing our different lifestyles she recently approached me about wanting to try going to the gym with me.

    ​She has said herself that she does not like running, whereas I very much enjoy running as my source of cardio. Can you guys help me come up with a cardio workout routine for her, that's not so severe that it will scare her off. I don't want to drop too much on her too soon. I would love for her to eventually enjoy going to the gym as much as me, but I need a routine that is suitable for a first time gym go-er who has insecurities, that will help encourage her to enjoy the experience.

    I really want to be as supportive as I can on this journey without being pushy. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated, cheers!

    i think starting off on the treadmill walking as long as possible.
    gradually build speed and incline over time/ days-weeks.
    when thats familiar & comfortable, she may want more challenge with elliptical and bicycle, stair climbing.
    also, weight training is great for her

    Since most gyms provide a variety of exercise equipment for a cardio workout, she can switch things up and do different exercises each day of the week to avoid getting bored. She can blast away body fat doing cardiovascular exercises five days each week at the gym. Changing up routine regularly will keep her whole body tight and toned. Adding resistance exercises will maximize muscle definition and further decrease body fat.
