    Default Long/Mid distance track

I joined track this year. I'm running the 1 mile and the 800m.

I don't need much advice on the running aspec of it, because I do plenty of it at practice.

But I do have a few other questions: I decided that it would be best to start my cutting phase now, since it will also help in track. But, what exactly should I be doing about eating, since I want to avoid cramps and have energy? Any tips on what, how much less, and when I should eat?

And, what should i do about lifting now that I'm cutting? I've been basically training the same way, with a little bit less food. Its been working, but I am really looking to drop a few pounds of solid fat to help me in track (plus my abs are finally good).

    thanks for the help!

You need more variety than just 400's. You need to incorporate other distances, intervals, recovery times, recovery runs, and tempo runs into your training. It's not as easy as saying, "do this every Monday, this every Tuesday". There is a training periodization that takes you from general training (1200's, 1000's etc) to specific training later in the year (400's and 200's at race pace or faster). Along with that you need to start higher mileage and then taper towards the end of the season.
