I exercise daily - either cardio or bodyweight exercises plus core exercises everyday (bird dogs, plank and side plank)

I am curious about adding heavy weight lifting to my regimen, like squats, deadlifts, overhead press, and kettlebell swings.

But I can throw out my back easily if I'm careless lifting heavy objects. If I am not exercising regularly, I can get shooting pain down my leg because I have herniated disk in my lower back.

- Should I integrate heavy lifting into my regimen?
- If so, how do I do it safely?
- If not, please let me know that, too! I don't want to be foolish.
