I dont do that type of cardio anymore, now that I do dougs routine I do the precor elliptacial type trainer for 30 min when I do cardio. I used to do that 60 min of cardio but the gym im at now has neither the arc trainer or ski machine.

My head hurts from trying to think of how this all works...lol
I guess actually thinking about 700 isnt that much, like i guess its a bowl of salad with dressing, and a wrap.
but to consume 5-6 meals at that intake? can that really be fat burning??

Well here's what we can do. Take a break. Sleep on it. Do no more thinking of it today.

Then tomorrow start to track exactly what goes into your mouth on a normal basis. If it is below 3965 calories, which we know it will be, then RAMP UP to those calories. Don't just jump to them right off the bat.

Add 100 or 200 calories to what you are eating now each day. But you've got to have a definite count of how many calories you are eating each day.

I'm sure Doug alluded to this, but if you're not eating enough, your body's metabolism slows down to make efficeint use of the calories you have eaten. Which slows down the weight loss process. So to fuel that process, you have to fuel your body.

I just finished editing my post when I saw you replied so heres what I wrote if you have any more advice?

""Okay Im still a little confused, but i think i get it, the BMR is the calories burned sleeping all day. So I have to meet that (in daily intake of calories), plus then figure out what I burn on addition to that and aim to burn 1000 calories less off of the additional? That seems like a serious amount of calories doesnt it?

Okay and also I did the daily calculator thing, (crazy how many calories i burn a week just sleeping, or driving to work, or in my light office duties)
on Average I burn about 1765.1 a day ( i entered the minimal stuff I do per week as it varries every week , ex. wether or not i go hiking or an extra day at the gym if I play volleyball etc...)
    So is it the (A) BMR of 3200 + (B) additional calories burned - (C) 1000
    4965.1 - 1000 = 3965.1 of calories I need to eat?
Or is it just 1000 less of 1765.1 = 765.1 calories I need to eat ?
Im sure if I understood the concept of it all, the answer would be obvious to me, Doug thank you for your patience with me!""
Dave has hit the nail on the head, if your burning 1765 calories (are you sure that is correct) per day as an average over the seven days then added to your BMR then your intake to maintain your current bodyweight would be 4965, so if you subtract from that amount 1000 then your intake should be 3965. As has been said, that your muscle has to carry around the extra bodyfat per day and will be working harder. But as your bodyfat is lowered then you will need less and less calories. Very low calorie diets will work to lower weight but will also cause a lowering of lean body mass, which in turn then lowers the metabolism and cause an enzyme release that will force you into holding fat as a last resort for energy. Remember that the more muscle you have the more calories the body burns at rest. Losing weight is easy, losing bodyfat is totally different.....

Im not sure, I did the activity calculator with the what the lowest I do per week, because they were certain activities ( hiking, swimming, walking) that I do on some weeks and not others, so I did it with what I did everyday, i included everything from driving my car, to making dinner, to cleaning, sleeping, workouts, it probably is more but does this atleast give me an idea or should i do the activity calculator again with stuff that I do when its nice out, ( all the above in brackets and such)
    Dave and Doug, thanks again!!!!
