    Default preworkout supplement

    anyone have any good preworkout supplements you take? something that you get the rush and a more explosive workout? Im currently on MRI Black Powder and MRI Pro-Nos, they work good, but i was thinking of trying a different preworkout sup.

    Most supps, in that nature, are going to work differently for ech person. What works for you, may not work for me. I take Xyience NOX CG3. It works for me. Give me energy, a good pump and helps reduce muscle soreness tremendously (for ME). Others, Im sure, will have different ideas, per what they take...

    for me it's NO-Xplode. i get a big rush of energy that lasts for my whole workout and always helps on the last few reps. great stuff, kinda expensive, but it really works for me.

    I'm 'bout the same as Troy, 30 minutes out I drink a litre of water, a cup of coffee maybe and a piece of fruit. 5 minutes out I crank the Judas Priest and Disturbed and get in the mood.

    A cup of coffee is ok but if your serious get some caffeine tablets like no dose or Guarana Ginseng and take one about 30mins prior to your workout.

    If you take creatine avoid any caffeine though as some studies have shown that caffeine can half creatine absorbtion.

    This is extremely bad advice mate.

    In fact, its friggin dangerous.

    DO NOT TAKE NO-DOZE OR GUARANA BEFORE A WORKOUT.

    What is your argument with Guarana Ginseng?

    Guarana consists of up to 10% of caffeine, which is 3 times as much as found in coffee beans. It is regarded as the strongest natural food source of caffeine.

    Caffeine activates the central nervous system, stimulates the release of stress hormones like adrenaline and free fatty acids and thereby increases fat oxidation and slows down the break down of muscle glycogen

    Siberian Ginseng, Oriental Ginseng are even ingredients of animal pak, so what is your beef here?

    Common Guarana Side Effects
    Since guarana has not been adequately studied in clinical trials, all information on side effects comes from what is known about caffeine. Based on this information, common guarana side effects may include:

    * Insomnia
    * Nervousness
    * Restlessness
    * Indigestion or heartburn
    * Nausea and vomiting
    * Shakiness (tremor) or jitteriness
    * Increased urination
    * Headaches
    * Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).

    Guarana Side Effects to Report
    Some side effects with guarana, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider right away. These include but are not limited to:

    * High blood pressure (hypertension)
    * A rapid heart rate (tachycardia)
    * Rapid breathing or difficulty breathing
    * Seizures
    * Anxiety or agitation
    * An irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
    * Feelings of a rapidly or forcefully beating heart (known as heart palpitations)

    * Signs of an allergic reaction, such as unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
    The items highlighted in bold print are the problems I have with recommending anyone to take this drug. Diuretics are not conducive to physical training and personally I wouldn't take anything that is going to cause me to shake and have the jitters before I put heavy weights over various parts of my body.

    Anything that screws with your heart the way this stuff does is a definite "no-go" at this station. Your body builds a tolerance to this stuff and gradually you take more and more. ECA, guarana, mini-thins, no-doze... all these are things you do NOT want to put in your body.

    What sides did you get? apart from the possibility of an irregular heart beat. Ive had none apart from bouncing off the walls at work.

    Dowdie, I'm sure you're right. I mean the International Olympic Committee and the NCAA probably have only banned the use of guarana because they are afraid that the athletes will die while training, not unlike Steve Bechler, the pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles or Minnesota Vikings' offensive lineman Korey Stringer, both of whose deaths were linked to ephedrine.

    The side effects reported from guarana and ephedrine are very similar, but I suppose that only Expat, Bechler, and Stringer experienced them, and no one else in the world could possibly be at risk. Those nuts at the IOC and NCAA...what are they thinking??
    Donít chase the 1%, there is no magic training routine or diet thatís going to provide any measurable results over the basic principles for getting huge and strong: Train heavy, eat and sleep more.

    Glad to see you gents work this out.

    Dowdie - we have a lot of teens on the board and they do not have the experience that you do.
    So, in my opinion, they would have no idea what an irregular heartbeat would even feel like. Nor would they be equipped for the rush that could come from ingesting these items.
    Expat works with these type folks and it hits close to home to have things like this out where these young'uns can get the wrong idea and head to the medicine chest instead of eating right to get the energy flowin.

    Expat - I see Dowdie's point about the negative rep and I'm glad it was given back.

    EKnight - keepin the peace...nice post bro.

    Dowdie, my apologies for being a a bit of a prick. Troy is right that stuff related to teenagers receiving advice that is potentially harmful and in this case fatal strikes close to home with me. Just ask Eknight, I had a go at him over something similar. I can go over the top at times but its not personal and I'd buy ya a beer if I were in Oz mate.

    Default My Pre-workout advice

    Like it has been said before, the NO preworkout supplements are a very individual effect bunch. I will say though my best preworkout stack that i currently use today is a bit lengthy but imo effective.

    -1 scoop ON gold standard in skim milk
    -1 scoop SP250
    -1g glutamine (a lot is already contained in the ON shake)
    -2g Beta-alanine
    -1g carnitine
    -1 apple

    like i said lengthy and maybe a bit much as far as price and quantity but its the most effective combo I've concocted to date.

    If you're going for a single supplement preworkout I'd still stick with Superpump250 because of its "all-in-one" formula of Aminos and creatine and what not but the key is to dabble and find what works for you just be sure not to push the envelope and go past the recommended serving size.

    Just tried p-boost after reading some reviews about it. Worked good but pretty pricey. The trial was free but you have to pay for the shipping which was quick. Anyone know any coupon codes for p-boost.com?
